It is possible for a permanent part time employee to be covered. However, the terms and cost sharing arrangements must be specifically agreed to in the collective agreement ,the Trustees must agree to the collective agreement provisions in advance and the collective agreement must be registered with the Plan Administrator. (The FIR-USW Coast Master Agreement and the FIR-USW Coastal Construction Agreement do not recognize part-time coverage and the general rule is an employee must be regularly working at least 32 hours per week to qualify for coverage.)
